I expected so much more from a metis young woman living in a society based on slavery. Most side quests are completely mundane, the personna idea is annoying more than anything, and the Assassin (Aveline) is saddly pretty lame and shallow. Liberation HD would be okay, actually, if it didn't feel so cheap, and so rushed. It's a shame cause the New World brought some fresh air in the series, but ultimately fell flat. 'Collect all the items', 'grind 50 wolf pelts', 'follow that stupid miner around until he actually starts to work'. The side quests are horrendous, and at some point it really feels like a solo MMORPG. But it also has many flaws, that make the game tedious. The game overall feels like a reskin of Brotherhood.ĪC III is great in a lot of ways.
There's nothing new really (except some insane things like a crappy tower defense minigame), and an vast increase in useless collectibles. Revelation is where the series start to feel like a grind. ACII has the advantage of offering three or four cities with different looks and feels. They built up on AC I ideas, and improved all of them. That is if you like the naval part of it.Īs a second choice, I'd say either AC II or AC: Brotherhood. I've started playing AC a couple months ago.īlack Flag is the best, by far.
